When practicing in the financial industry in the mid 90's, Ross Kraft noticed a startling trend in group benefits- while there were plenty of captive agencies and brokers representing the insurance companies, there was no one out there working as the client's advocate. “Who was working for them?”, he asked.

Ross took his years of experience in the health insurance industry, paired that with the human resource and marketing experience of Andy Biernat, and together they started the truly independent group benefits firm, Meridian Group of New York, Inc.

Unbound by production quotas or corporate mandates, Meridian Group was able to give their clients access to a long list of providers, coupled with the unbiased expertise needed to tailor a plan to meet their needs. No two clients would be the same and nor would their benefits plans.

This client-focused, comprehensive approach led them from listening to and then exceeding the needs of their first client to now exceeding the expectations of several hundred group and individual clients. Currently armed with an enthusiastic team of experts and the latest technology platforms, Meridian Group of New York is leading the way in both brokerage and administration of employee benefits, executive benefits and financial planning.
